best friends
I just recently realized how grateful I am for my amazing friends. I know I see you girls rarely (well, with the exception of Erica) but you mean more to me than you could possibly imagine.
So this is a tribute to some of my most favorite Tucsaloosa girlfriends.
Erica- You are the most incredible seeker of justice I have ever met. You have compassion and mercy for the weak and tempted in ways that very few people in the church are. Your gift in counseling is astonishing and I'm praying that you will be able to pursue a career in that field for at least some portion of your life. I can't express how much healing I have received from your consistent and patient affirmation. We are so different in some things, yet you still give me reasons to love myself. You are witty, pretty, wise, creative, smart, and loving. You are one of the best answered prayers I have ever had in my entire life. I'm a little terrified of not living in the same city with you next year. It just won't be the same. At least we have the summer to be selfish with eachother.
Sarah Teague- You made freshman year survivable for me. Thank you for being my friend and not thinking I was a complete psycho for interrupting your conversation with Gabrielle at Phil's the first time we met. I love how well we relate in our interests. It's so refreshing and relieving to feel like I have a friend who looks at the world through the same eyes as I do. You see beauty in the abstract and unusual and bring joy in the mundane. Your heart is precious to the Lord and to me as well. Let's end our senior year the way we began it please.
Davis Ann- You have been such an encouragement to me this year. I've done a terrible job with maintaining our frienship yet you keep pursuing me. Your occasional texts that tell me you love me mean the world to me and have brought me joy when I've felt so lonely and isolated. I feel so enjoyed when I'm around you, even though I have no idea why because in light of your incredible personality I seem to bring so little to the table. But for some reason you still like me. :) Hearing you tell me that you think I have a good work ethic made my day, because of all of our friends I admire your responsibility and stability the most. You are so merciful and patient with people and you host the best events. I feel so priviledged to be one of your close friends.
Jessi Ryan- You are so faithful with what God has given you. I am astonished by how you pursued Ashley and Nichelle this year and how you challenged them in their walks with Christ. I could have never done what you have done. I also could never had done the youth without you. You are so patient when planning the lessons and slow to speak. This, beautiful girl, is an awesome trait because its really easy to follow your pride and show off your knowledge about the Lord in order to impress others and sound elite. Its so impressive to see you walk in humility because I have no doubt that you are well-equipped in wisdom. I can't wait to be in ministry with you again next year. I even more can't wait to get closer to you as a friend. You have been so wonderful to me this year. Thank you for your grace and for listening and never judging me. I feel so safe to come to you with my struggles because you truly love me without condition. You are just such a remarkable girl.
That is all. Love you girls.
